Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how iNeedAutoJob (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the iNeedAutoJob web app (app.ineedautojob.com) and the iNeedAutoJob browser extension (together, the “Service”).

iNeedAutoJob helps you discover jobs, draft applications with AI, and submit applications you approve — through your own logged-in browser session. You stay in control: nothing is submitted without your explicit approval.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address, used to sign in via a one-time code (we do not store a password for the app).
• Profile & resume. The details you provide — name, headline, location, skills, work preferences, and the resume you upload — used to tailor applications.
• Job & application data. The job sources you configure, jobs discovered for you, application statuses, screening-question answers, and cover letters generated on your behalf.
• Usage data. Basic product usage (e.g. AI credits consumed, applies per day) needed to operate plans and limits.
• Billing. If you subscribe to Pro, payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.

The browser extension

The extension applies to jobs inside your own browser session — using your login, your connection, and your IP. Specifically:

• It acts only on jobs you have approved in the app. It opens the job page, fills the application form, and submits it.
• It does not collect or transmit your job-board password. It never sees or stores your credentials — it works within your already-signed-in session.
• It stores a small amount of local state (the current apply progress and a pause flag) in your browser’s extension storage, so the popup can show status. This never leaves your device except to report application outcomes to your account.
• It communicates with the iNeedAutoJob dashboard to receive the jobs you approved and to report each application’s result (submitted, failed, etc.).

Extension permissions & why we need them

• Host access to job boards (JobStreet, Indeed, LinkedIn) — to open the job posting and fill in the application you approved.
• Host access to the iNeedAutoJob dashboard — to sync the approved queue and report application results to your account.
• Tabs & scripting — to open the job page in a window and run the form-filling logic on that page only.
• Storage — to keep the current apply status and your pause preference so the popup stays in sync.

How we use your information

• To provide the Service — discover jobs, draft cover letters, answer screening questions, and apply to jobs you approve.
• To personalize applications using your profile and resume.
• To track your applications and show insights (match score, scam detection) on eligible plans.
• To enforce plan limits and process subscriptions.
• To send transactional email (e.g. sign-in codes) from noreply@ineedautojob.com.

AI processing

To generate cover letters, answer screening questions, and run mock interviews, relevant parts of the job posting and your profile/resume are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) for processing. This data is used to produce your result and is not used to train the provider’s models where such controls are available.

Service providers we share data with

We use trusted providers to run the Service, and share only what is needed:

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• Google Gemini — AI text generation.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Resend — sending transactional email.
• Our payment provider — subscription billing.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Uploading a new resume replaces the previous one; a normal save never wipes it. You can delete your resume, sources, and other data from within the app at any time, and you can request full account deletion by contacting us.

Security

We never store your job-site passwords — applications run inside your own logged-in browser session, so there are no job-board credentials for us to hold. Sensitive data you provide, such as your resume, is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and is never stored in plain text. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with our infrastructure providers using industry-standard protections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information, and nothing is submitted or shared without your action.

Your rights & control

• Access, correct, or delete your profile, resume, and sources from your account at any time.
• Export your data (available on Pro).
• Approve every application before it’s sent — nothing is automatic.
• Request account deletion by contacting support.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
